I discovered this makeup removing gel by Nuxe shortly after using up my beloved Banila Co. Clean It Zero. I needed a new product to remove my makeup and sunblock after a long day spent out and about. My requirements were not too complicated – a gentle, non-dehydrating, oil-based formula – but I still couldn’t find anything perfect in pharmacies/drugstores. The only thing that came close was Nuxe Face Cleansing and Makeup Removing Gel.
This post is way overdue. I’ve been having it on my mind for the longest time but sadly couldn’t post it any time sooner. In early 2016, I started using more makeup and relatives quickly found some of my favourite makeup items that I love using this year, too. Some are part of the daily rotation while others are meant for special occasions only. Any way you look at them – they’re my favourites!
Hello Waffle Lavender Cream Liquid Highlighter
This is such a versatile highlighter that I can’t help but love it. It can be very, very subtle but it can also be packed on for a very noticeable, shimmery effect. It’s cool-toned so folks with warm undertones might not appreciate it that much. However, it should work fine if used sparingly. Check my review and swatches here.
NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
This foundation stole my heart back in February 2016 but I only started using it in November. It truly is a weightless foundation because it feels like second skin and you don’t need to apply a lot of it to achieve medium-to-full coverage. I apply three drops, tops. While it’s called luminous, I find it to be more matte but then it’s not chalky or heavy, especially if you apply it to well-moisturised skin.
Today I present the company that’s mysterious and hilarious, poetical and political. It’s the one that intrigues me the most, a source of endless inspiration, curiousity, and wonderment. This is Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and they make amazing perfumes.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is a perfume company from North Hollywood, California. They describe their business and products as “extraordinary scents for extraordinary people”. A short and succinct description, just as most people like it. However, the people behind this four-word brand name (BPAL) aren’t just making perfumes, they create stories based on various pieces of literature or film, combining both classical literature and fantasy novels. Films and paintings.
This post’s focus will be on their Yule 2016 collection that went live on 5 December 2016 and is available until 13 February 2017. This limited edition offers a wide variety of typical Christmassy scents, as well as strange aromas you’ve never dreamt about, at least not in perfume form. Don’t hesitate to check out the shop and pick your new favourite scents!
Every time I tell myself that I really don’t need any more eyeshadows or pretty much any other make-up item, I come across something that sparkles my interest and turns it into a bonfire. Continue reading “Hello Waffle: Kitty Kingdom Eyeshadows”
The fact is that I have quite a few lipsticks. The number isn’t really that big but in the past year I’ve accumulated so many that I keep forgetting about some of them on a regular basis. This is why I’ve decided that my lipsticks need some more loving.
In December, my focus will be on the Canadian brand Hello Waffle. I’ve written about the brand before (here, here, and here) so I’ll jump straight into the review, as well as the description of my new project.
This post deserves a disclaimer straight away: my nails aren’t in their best condition and they haven’t really improved from last year. From a regular bystander’s point of view, their ridges surely signify that something’s wrong with me? Well, as luck might have it, my nails have been ridged ever since I was born so I suppose it’s just their natural state.
