Ciaté – Mostly a Minx
A deep, wine red that looks classy on everyone. It dries fast to a nice shiny finish, and doesn’t need more than two thin coats to look fully opaque.
Deborah – 05 Violet Pleasure
A lacquer with a gel-like texture (and finish), this little gem stayed unopened for the longest while (I’m trying out a FIFO system – first in, first out). When still full, it’s a bit of a pain to apply it because it’s wide brush gets completely covered with the formula. However, one coat is more than enough!
Essie – Luxedo
A lovely, super dark, burgundy shade that is for some reason overlooked by most polish lovers. I don’t know why because it looks so mystical; it’s not quite black but neither it is brown. There is a twist to it that makes it fun to wear. It does need two coats to get fully opaque, otherwise it looks sad (unless your nail surface is super smooth). Now, go and show it some love!
Essie – Bahama Mama
Who doesn’t love this shade? I admit I wasn’t getting the hype until I’ve seen lots and lots of swatches and manicures. Now I’m a convert. This is a definite repurchase once I run out.
Catrice – C03 Skie’s Force
I immediately fell in love with this one. It looks so beautful and sparkly in the bottle but when I apply it, it’s undertone is much cooler than I anticipated. At least the skin on my hands is more pink than my face so I can pull off this look! I’ll try to make some nail art with it – it’ll make for a nice Christmas tree colour.
What are your favourite nail polishes for the season?
Wishing you a happy winter solstice,
