C20 Tetraforce Activator – the Serum that Impressed Me

C20 Tetraforce Activator by Add Actives

Everyone has at least one holy grail item in their skincare cabinet, am I right? I believe I might have found mine! According to Add Actives, the C20 Tetraforce Activator is »one of the highest quality Vitamin C Concentrates available«. It’s supposed to have a gentle but effective formula that acts against hyperpigmentation, uneven texture and skin tone, fine lines and other concerns we stumble upon as our skin starts to age. It contains an antioxidant called ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, which is actually a vitamin C derivative.

Recently, the brand owner gave away Add Actives Tetraforce vitamin C samples as thanks for the contribution to one of their questionnaires. I was happy to receive my sample very fast and I started using it that same day.

Add Actives Tetraforce vitamin C – the Test

The C20 Tetraforce Activator has a yellow, transparent and viscous formula that provides a nourishing feeling as soon as I put it on my face. Despite it being oily, my skin didn’t get overly greasy but it did have a healthy glow.

I tested it by using it on one side of my face (on the other side of my face I applied my old trusty The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F). I could only use it for about three weeks because the Add Actives Tetraforce vitamin C sample doesn’t last much longer – if you use it undiluted. That’s why I can’t really say that it lightened my hyperpigmentation. However, I did notice my skin had become softer and smoother. That side of the face was also bouncier, in a way, and more radiant in comparison with The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate version. I’m positive that with prolonged regular use, hyperpigmentation would be diminished, too.

Is the Add Actives Tetraforce vitamin C worth its high price? It depends. If you have the money and can afford a more luxurious skincare, go for it. Otherwise, The Ordinary’s version is still a good, budget-friendly choice, although its effects are not as visible and palpable as they are with the C20 Tetraforce Activator.

You can buy the C20 Tetraforce Activator on the Add Actives website for €94.
