Thanks to the Australian retailer Femme Fatale, I had already tried a couple of Solstice Scents perfumes* when I decided to place my very first order with Solstice Scents. Boasting with an extensive library of olfactory delights, the brand sure doesn’t make the decision process easy. For my first order, I went with a couple of fan favourites, as well as some perfumes from the Spring Collection that appealed to me.
*Those perfumes were Foxcroft and Nightgown – let me know in the comments below if you want to read another Solstice Scents review!
Entitled The Town That Dreaded Sundown, the Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet May 2018 was inspired by the TV show Riverdale. It featured two eyeshadows, glitter, a tinted lip balm, and a lip scrub. I liked the variety of products and felt like all the colours complemented each other well. Now, let’s get to the nitty-gritty!
Both eyeshadow swatches were done over Femme Fatale Shadow Magic primer and, on the right, also over Notoriously Morbid Shadow Bind glitter glue. All of V was applied over Shadow Magic and Shadow Bind. The lip balm was applied over clean, unprimed skin.
Are you ready for Halloween? Yes, it’s only September but as I get older, I notice that time runs faster every year. I swear that I’ll blink with my eyes twice and it’ll be late October already. So, yes, it’s time to carve a pumpkin, take out your Halloween decorations and find a scary film to watch. The only thing that’s missing? A Halloween perfume.
In 2017, Nocturne Alchemy, or NAVA, released a perfume called Vampire Chocolate Bat. As part of a limited-edition collection, it was available for around $24 until 31 October before it disappeared. Who knows – perhaps it will return for this year’s Navalloween.
Nocturne Alchemy: Vampire Chocolate Bat
