Notoriously Morbid: Vanishing Cabinet May 2018

Entitled The Town That Dreaded Sundown, the Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet May 2018 was inspired by the TV show Riverdale. It featured two eyeshadows, glitter, a tinted lip balm, and a lip scrub. I liked the variety of products and felt like all the colours complemented each other well. Now, let’s get to the nitty-gritty!

Both eyeshadow swatches were done over Femme Fatale Shadow Magic primer and, on the right, also over Notoriously Morbid Shadow Bind glitter glue. All of V was applied over Shadow Magic and Shadow Bind. The lip balm was applied over clean, unprimed skin.

A matte dark grey perfect to pair with Betts!

For some reason, mattes don’t work that great on me but this one is quite lovely. It blends well into my crease and it doesn’t clash much with my skin tone. I can’t see myself wearing it often but I’ll keep it because sometimes, I just want to do a smokey eye and Weirdo seems to be good for that.

The perfect pink lid wash color. A blushing pink with a soft violet sheen and gold sparkles.

Now, this shadow is perfection in my books. It complements my skin tone really well, no matter how light or tan I am. It works as a »one-and-done« shadow or simply as a lid shadow. I don’t really notice any soft violet sheen (if there is any, it’s pink) but the tiny gold sparkles are there.

A rootbeer and vanilla flavored sugar scrub to exfoliate your lips.

I get mainly rootbeer with the barest hint of vanilla. The scent isn’t really my cup of tea but I like the formula enough that I’ll keep on using this scrub. I apply a tiny amount with my fingers and gently rub it into my lips to slough off dead skin cells. The sugar isn’t too harsh on my lips and it doesn’t make them bleed. I wipe off the excess with a tissue and what’s left behind is a film of beeswax, Copernicia cerifera wax and hydrogenated castor oil. It feels lovely but it’s not enough to moisturise my dry lips.

Blossom Bombshell

A red tinted Sinister Sprite to complete that bombshell look.

This colour is gorgeous. It’s a red-hued pink with a warm undertone, a perfect shade to wear in the summer (and I wore it lots!). It feels smooth but firm on my lips, providing sufficient moisture, so that dry them out. It has a tiny bit of shimmer and an interesting, sweet scent.

A warm champagne glitter with a vixen pairing of yellow and sapphire.

This glitter is safe to be used on your face and body. The particles are big, so I wouldn’t use them on my eyes. The yellow glitter is full of sapphire and holographic sparkles – it’s not something I would wear on my face every day but this would work for more creative looks (I’ll admit I’m pretty boring when it comes to EOTDs, haha).

That said, here’s a look that I did with Betts on the lid and Weirdo in the crease. The depth difference between the two shadows is a bit too big for my taste but I like the look nonetheless.
