Arcana Witches Draw Down the Moon

Once upon a time, I fell in love with the perfume called Two Finger Ballet by Arcana. I quickly turned to my usual indie haunts like Reddit and, surprisingly, Facebook only to find yet another perfume described as Two Finger Ballet… but with maple creme. I knew I had to get it.

Arcana Witches Draw Down the Moon review

The Description

Infused vanilla oleoresin with sweet maple creme, maple sugar, dry Madagascan vanilla, and moon-white marshmallow.

Witches Draw Down the Moon was part of Arcana’s Halloween 2016 collection. It’s not available for purchase at the moment but I’m hoping it will return at some point in the future.

Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet: March 2018

Another month, another Vanishing Cabinet box! The March edition was based on the film called Talladega Nights. This is a sport comedy I haven’t seen yet so the references didn’t really come across. However, all the shadows and the lip balm looked interesting enough that I didn’t mind!

Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet March 2018

Called “Shake & Bake”, this Vanishing Cabinet consisted of shimmery and sparkly eyeshadows and an untinted lip balm. I feel that the colours were cohesive enough to create a look combining all the shadows (but to be honest, I prefer one-and-done shadows and that’s what I tend to wear 80% of the time).

Included in the package was also an Atomic Fire Ball, which tasted of cinnamon. I wasn’t a fan! That aside, let’s move on to the individual shades (and the lip balm).

Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet: February 2018

I did say that beauty boxes weren’t my thing but if there’s one I’d like to try, it’s an indie beauty box (read why, here). Notoriously Morbid provide two beauty boxes – one of them (the Mystic Monthly) is all about matte liquid lipstick and lip-related products, while the other one (the Vanishing Cabinet) is about various mini-sized beauty items. In January, you could subscribe to the VC without joining the waitlist first, so I pulled the trigger.

At the end of February, my very first Vanishing Cabinet was waiting for me in the post box! This month’s edition was inspired by the TV show 30 Rock, a cult classic (that I haven’t watched yet, oops!). I received four items and the liquid lipstick was this month’s full-sized product.

Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel in Perfect Pink

I’ve never really worn nude, pastel nail polishes because I could never apply them properly and they always ended up looking streaky. However, I’m always up for a challenge so when I found Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel in Perfect Pink hiding in my BBMU goodie bag, I quickly decided to give it a go.

A BB nail polish is a new concept to me. Here’s what Avon claim about this nail enamel:

  • Colour and care
  • A built-in base coat
  • Covers nail imperfections
  • Increase nail length by up to 72%
  • UV filter to prevent yellowing
  • Smooths nail ridges
  • Protects nails

But are these claims true? If you’re a long-time reader, you’ll know that my nails are full of ridges and they simply love to peel and break. This is why I was very sceptical of their claim that this polish smooths nail ridges. So how did it behave?

First Impressions: Lotique, Sephora and Benefit

Hello, everyone! Today I would like to share with you my first first-impression post! I’ve recently received some of these products for free at the BBMU conference, and others were bought at Sephora. I’ve only tried them a couple of times so these reviews are by no means exhaustive but I hope they give you a general idea of how these products behave. For reference; I have combination skin (normal cheeks and oily T-zone), my skin tone falls into the NW15 range (I think), my lips tend to be dry while my eyelids tend to be oily. My eyelashes are proper divas that refuse to stay curled, they’re long and relatively thick.

Čisto na dnu te objave je razglašena tudi zmagovalka nagradne ige za Melvitino Izjemno zlato olje. 🙂

C20 Tetraforce Activator – the Serum that Impressed Me

C20 Tetraforce Activator by Add Actives

Everyone has at least one holy grail item in their skincare cabinet, am I right? I believe I might have found mine! According to Add Actives, the C20 Tetraforce Activator is »one of the highest quality Vitamin C Concentrates available«. It’s supposed to have a gentle but effective formula that acts against hyperpigmentation, uneven texture and skin tone, fine lines and other concerns we stumble upon as our skin starts to age. It contains an antioxidant called ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, which is actually a vitamin C derivative.

Recently, the brand owner gave away C20 Tetraforce Activator samples as thanks for the contribution to one of their questionnaires. I was happy to receive my sample very fast and I started using it that same day.
