ILNP Birefringence

One of the reasons why I’m interested in indie makeup is unusual colours, special shimmer, shifting holo or shifting colours etc. ILNP Birefringence is a polish that fits the bill perfectly. ILNP is an American boutique nail polish brand that makes great multi chrome and holographic polishes. The first two ILNP polishes that I’ve bought are Happily Ever After, a silver lilac holographic polish with silver flakes, and My Private Rainbow (Linear + Scattered), a holographic top coat. In this post, however, I’ll review an absolute stunner called Birefringence.

ILNP Birefringence

Birefringence is a chromatic nail polish that shifts through blue, teal, violet, pink, purple and gold. It belongs to the brand’s collection of “ultra chrome” polishes that all magically shift from one colour to another. They don’t need a base colour to fully “pop”, which is certainly great for us impatient souls who can’t apply 3+ layers of polish and do nothing for long. 😉

Favourite Makeup Discoveries of 2016

This post is way overdue. I’ve been having it on my mind for the longest time but sadly couldn’t post it any time sooner. In early 2016, I started using more makeup and relatives quickly found some of my favourite makeup items that I love using this year, too. Some are part of the daily rotation while others are meant for special occasions only. Any way you look at them – they’re my favourites!

Hello Waffle Lavender Cream Liquid Highlighter

This is such a versatile highlighter that I can’t help but love it. It can be very, very subtle but it can also be packed on for a very noticeable, shimmery effect. It’s cool-toned so folks with warm undertones might not appreciate it that much. However, it should work fine if used sparingly. Check my review and swatches here.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

This foundation stole my heart back in February 2016 but I only started using it in November. It truly is a weightless foundation because it feels like second skin and you don’t need to apply a lot of it to achieve medium-to-full coverage. I apply three drops, tops. While it’s called luminous, I find it to be more matte but then it’s not chalky or heavy, especially if you apply it to well-moisturised skin.

November Favourites

November, probably the third* dullest month is gone and done. It’s finally got really cold outside and in my opinion that’s a good enough reason to stay indoors, drink copious amounts of tea and watch TV series. Really, why would anyone want to go outside to freeze their socks off?

Favourite Makeup Skincare and Perfume in November

However, there were some make-up, perfumes and skincare products that made getting ready for work (or going to sleep) much easier. This is my first favourites post, in which I will describe some things that I liked using the most in the past month. Enjoy the ride!

(Psst, there are swatches, too!)

Femme Fatale – Tiger Lily

In April 2016 the Australian company called Femme Fatale released the Enchanted Fables collection, which was inspired by heroines from numerous classic fairy tales.
