Arcana Craves the Daydream Collection

When we wished each other a happy new year nearly 12 months ago, I bet that no one had this in mind. What a weird, depressing year has it been. The world seems to be falling apart and there are few things that still shine like stars in the darkness. But persevere we must and hopefully 2021 has nicer moments in store for us.

As Julia of Arcana says, the Daydream collection encapsulates the experiences and places we’ve been daydreaming about during lockdown. When the collection was released I could spend time out and about, seeing that it was summer and there were nearly no restrictions in place (at least not here in Slovenia). Predictably, the fun didn’t last long and now we’re in lockdown 2.0 with no end in sight. So this collection from Arcana Craves is like a godsend. It helps me relax, cheer up, think of the lovely times past and pleasant moments ahead.

For the sake of transparency, these were sent as a PR gift from Arcana Craves. I asked not to be sent the Honey perfumes because they usually don’t work well with my skin. I bought Honey Craves Paradise with my own money, though.

BPAL Snake Oil vs. Boomslang

Wow, September was a month and a half! It was a whirlwind of events, some good, others less so. I needed to take some time for myself and focus on other areas in my life. Now I’m back to reviewing indie scents.

This post is all about Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, or BPAL for short. You’ve probably seen it mentioned on my blog in the past. This post, however, focuses on Snake Oil — what I believe is one of their oldest and most popular offerings — and its snakey spin-off, Boomslang. Let’s get on with the reviews!

BPAL Snake Oil review

Old description: By far, our most popular scent! Magnetic, mysterious, and exceedingly sexual in nature. A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla.
New description: Our signature scent, our first perfume: deep, rich earthy notes swirled with vegetal musks, sugared vanilla bean, and dark spices.

Nocturne Alchemy Art of Love reviews

Hi! I hope everyone’s doing well. I’ll be honest here – I don’t have any special intro to today’s post. These are some old Nocturne Alchemy perfume oil decants/samples that I enjoyed wearing last year and this summer. I’d love to explore more of this brand’s olfactory offerings but (cheaper) international shipping is not available at this point. If you’re in the US, feel free to let me know your favourites in the comments below or on my Instagram profile.

Below you’ll find NAVA Art of Love reviews of Blue Chamomile Lavender Dolphin, Holy Grail, and Mariamne.

Arcana Wildcraft Glittering Blue

Released as part of the Beat the Heat summer collection, Glittering Blue from Arcana Wildcraft is a “blue” take on the Glittering White perfume oil.

So, if this collection was released in July, why do you talk about it now, you ask. Well, I bought it in October, so I couldn’t have posted it any earlier than that. Anyway, Glittering Blue wears great in winter and spring, too. With the current temperature swings ranging from the frosty 0 °C (32 °F) in the morning to the splendid 18 °C (64 °F) in the afternoon, I thought I’d give this perfume oil some more wear time.
