Arcana Wildcraft Night-Tripping Fairies

Released in August 2019, Arcana Wildcraft Night-Tripping Fairies collection focuses on the fairies from Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It features eight scents, each bright and cheery, but yet distinct. Julia, the creator of these fragrances, extracted many of the ingredients herself, as well as wild-harvested and distilled all plant ingredients labelled as such.

My parents have always gathered various berries and other plants in the wild, including juniper berries and spruce tips. Making anything edible out of them takes literal weeks, so I appreciate the effort and time Julia has put into making this collection.

You can buy Arcana Wildcraft’s Night-Tripping Fairies on their website for $6 (1.11 ml), $26 (5 ml), or $76 (15 ml).

Solstice Scents Review: General and Spring Collections

Thanks to the Australian retailer Femme Fatale, I had already tried a couple of Solstice Scents perfumes* when I decided to place my very first order with Solstice Scents. Boasting with an extensive library of olfactory delights, the brand sure doesn’t make the decision process easy. For my first order, I went with a couple of fan favourites, as well as some perfumes from the Spring Collection that appealed to me.

*Those perfumes were Foxcroft and Nightgown – let me know in the comments below if you want to read another Solstice Scents review!

The Battle of the BPAL Zoryas: Zorya Utrennyaya, Zorya Vechernyaya and Zorya Polunochnaya

Today, I’m back to reviewing some perfumes! It’s time to review some – now slightly old already – offerings from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – the three Zoryas from the American Gods Collection. I won’t get into much detail about the collection because I already mentioned it in my review of Eostre of the Dawn, so let’s plunge straight into the battle!

The Battle of the BPAL Zoryas

Zorya Utrennyaya, Zorya Vechernyaya and Zorya Polunochnaya are three sisters – goddesses from Slavic mythology, as described in Neil Gaiman’s book American Gods. Curiously, only the first two appear in Slavic myths, whereas Zorya Polunochnaya was supposedly created by Gaiman for his novel.

Zorya Utrennyaya represents the Morning Star, Zorya Vechernyaya is the Evening Star and Zorya Polunochnaya is the Midnight Star, so you can guess that each Zorya has her own character and a perfume corresponding to it.
