Sometimes, you’re just bored of coffee. Well, not really, but it gets to a point when even a cup of coffee just doesn’t satisfy your craving, either because you’ve cut your sugary syrups, flavoured creamers or… Or maybe you’d just like to try something new and squeeze some protein macros in while you’re at it. After all, who can say no to a tasty protein treat?
This is what’s happened to me a week ago. I knew it was going to be difficult to fit my protein macros for the day and I wondered whether there was a way to mix coffee and my favourite whey without the result being too gross to stomach.
It turned out that whey and coffee make a perfect couple. These guys shared their favourite coffee/whey recipes and I decided to recreate one of them with the ingredients I had at hand:
1 dl moka coffee
0.7 dl milk
10 g QNT Delicious Whey Vanilla
The result was ah-mazing. Seriously, guys. You should try it, too. You don’t have to use these precise ingredients — go crazy and substitute vanilla whey with chocolate, add your favourite calorie-free syrup or sweeten it with stevia if you’re craving for a super sweet drink.
Here are some more ideas:
Iced vanilla protein latte macchiato: make coffee ice cubes. Prepare some more coffee and cool it down. Put the coffee ice cubes in a glass, pour the coffee over and add the whey/milk concoction.
Tiramisu: skip the milk and use whey/coffee combo to make some kickass tiramisu.
