Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich review

Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich has been a part of my AB skincare life for a while now, so it’s high time I review it. Don’t you agree? Whamisa is a Korean beaty brand that isn’t hugely popular in Slovenia but it has pretty much a worldwide presence.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich – the Ingredients

The Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich is a very popular product, known for its fermented ingredients. This was the main selling point for me, as I was trying to explore this skincare segment and move away from your basic toners. This water-free toner isn’t meant for cleansing your skin. Instead, you use it as your first or second hydrating product. It contains an Aloe maculata leaf extract, which supposedly treats inflammation and other skin concerns. An interesting ingredient is also the galactomyces ferment filtrate, which is an antioxydant with moisturising and repairing properties (Wikipedia).

And what is it about these ferments? They allegedly contain more active ingredients, minerals, and sugars that are good for your skin. You can read all about them in this post by Labmuffin and in this review by Skin and Tonics.

I’d like to warn you that this product underwent a reformulation somewhere between 2015 and 2018 (when I bought it). So keep that in mind when reading reviews.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich – the Experience

I’ll start off by saying that the packaging feels very natural and is nice to the touch. It also features Braille, which is a considerate touch for those with visual impairment. The design features a lot of flowers to reflect the organic formula of the product (97.40% organic ingredients). The bottle is made of frosted glass, which adds a sophisticated touch to the experience. The dispenser with the hole lets out enough product, so you can’t really overspill it.

The texture itself is transparent and more viscous than water. I apply it as the second step in my routine. Two drops of the toner are usually enough for my face. I wait for it to sink in before applying a moisturiser on top.

The scent is floral and herbal. I actually quite like it because it seems natural and gentle. On top of that, it disappears quickly after application.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich – the Results

So how does the Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich work on my combination/oily skin? At first I was afraid I was petrified that it would be too much. This toner is marketed for dry and normal skin after all.

However, my skin is hydrated and bouncy immediately after using it. I don’t notice any special soothing action. The redness on my cheeks (from acne) doesn’t disappear but it also doesn’t become worse. My skin stays hydrated for longer.

That said, its effects don’t justify the hefty price – €38.90. Yes, that’s how much I paid for it on the Skin Trick website (the product is not available anymore). I can get a similar effect from Melvita’s floral waters and extraordinary waters for a lower price, so that’s where I’ll put my money next.

What to take away from this Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich review? I think it’s a decent toner for dry-skin folks. However, you might want to first try a sample before committing to the full-size product.
